In Traditional Eastern Acupuncture, it is believed that all diseases stem from an imbalance in vital energy flow or Qi (pronounced as "Chee"). Blockages in Qi can also lead to blood stagnation, which further disrupts circulation and nourishment in the body, disrupting homeostasis. Acupuncturists emphasize the alignment of the body's vital energy (Qi), the balance of Yin and Yang aspects, and the unobstructed flow of energy through meridians or pathways using a variety of therapeutic modalities, including acupuncture, cupping, and other modalities. Acupuncture also releases the endorphins that block the message of pain, helping ease chronic and acute pain.
